   No quería acabar el mes con un rosco en el blog. Es algo personal, ya que lo leéis cuatro gatos -siendo muy optimista... :-D

 

   Desde que escuché el primer disco de este nativo de Honolulu -Hawaii- hace ya siete años, quedé enganchado. En aquel Doo-Woops & Hooligans había canciones tremendas y divertidas. No hay mas que ver el video de The Lazy Song.

   En el año 2012 llegó su segundo disco: Unorthodox Jukebox. El sencillo oficial fue otro bombazo: "Locked Out of Heaven"...

   Por último, en Noviembre de 2016 apareció su tercer disco: 24K Magic y con él otro gran éxito. El sonido funky de los ochenta me trae recuerdos de aquellos tiempos -como agüelico que soy. La linea de bajo es impagable y de las letras...

Guitarist, engineer and producer Keith More from London, England, pumps up and mashes out two rockers, "In My Pocket" and "Cataclysmic".
   John Cuniberti revisits "Lost In A Memory" and turns up the modern textures and drama to make a very spiritual and powerful remix.
   And, as a little taste of what's to come in 2017, I asked ZZ to put together a short trailer for his full length experimental tour documentary about our "Shockwave Tour 2016". He followed us across Europe for almost two months and captured the sound and the fury, and all the crazy stuff no one else sees from the audience. Filmed and edited in ZZ's unique style, we hope to release the full documentary in the first half of 2017.

   La undécima entrega de bandas sonoras de hechos históricos. En 2017, nuevo disco de Owl City. :-p

 

   In 1914, Ernest Shackleton and his crew sailed for the Antarctic in the vessel Endurance. Not long into their voyage, they encountered polar pack ice and progress slowed to a stop. The Endurance was within 200 miles of her destination when the ship became beset, and as the wind compressed the ice in the Weddell Sea against land, the Endurance was slowly crushed to death and the men forced to abandon her. How Shackleton managed to reach South Georgia and arrange for the rescue of his crew remains one of the greatest survival stories of all time. The incredible resilience of the crew of the Endurance, and of Shackleton himself, is one of my favorite historical accounts because it serves as a reminder to us all: when things look bleakest, not all is lost.

   Los Rutles son una banda -en sentido literal- creada en los 70 como parodia de los Beatles. Según los propios Rutles, los Beatles son una burda parodia de los Rutles...
   Muy populares en el Reino -otrora unido- han llegado a entrar dos veces en las listas de éxitos de aquel país. El punto álgido de su popularidad lo alcanzaron en 1978 con un 'documental' titulado: All You Need Is Cash -Todo lo que necesitas es efectivo (metálico, pasta, vaya).

 

   Aquí te dejo el susodicho documental, en versión original (toma ripio), subtitulado para españoles latinos. Si no lo eres, probablemente te reirás todavía más.
   La banda no tiene desperdicio. La sonora, tampoco. 
   Te advierto que The Rutles son tremendamente adictivos y contagiosos, así que lo que te ocurra al visionar esto es responsabilidad tuya.

Adam Young - Mount Rushmore

   Adam Young sigue con su banda sonora mensual. Esta vez sobre el Monte Rushmore. En principio queda otra más para este año y nuevo disco de Owl City en 2017. Y hay quien dice que no tiene tiempo para responder un whatsapp...

 

   The southeastern face of Mount Rushmore in South Dakota’s Black Hills National Forest is the site of four gigantic carved sculptures depicting the faces of U.S. Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt. Led by sculptor Gutzon Borglum, work on the project began in 1927 and was completed in 1941. During that time, 400 workers carved the sculpture under dangerous conditions, removing close to 500,000 tons of rock in order to create the enormous carved heads, each of which reach a height of 60 feet. In Borglum’s original design, the four presidents were meant to be represented from the waist up but insufficient funding brought the carving to a halt after completion of their faces. This is my interpretation of the construction of America’s “Shrine of Democracy."
